As I walked through the park today it occurred to me that the Williamsburgh Savings Bank is in mourning. No longer the tallest, no longer the single landmark to figure out where you are, just a black shroud covering the face, the time. The new buildings are coming and that big crane is only the start. But no matter what they build, it will never match the architecture and style of the Bank. I wish there was a way to outlaw bad architecture, but no... if they can tear it down - they will build it.

and anyone want to place bets when this one gets torn down? The FOR RENT signs are usually the first sign of demolition...
