Union Square
Riding home last night, feeling a bit edgy from cars and pedestrians not paying any attention, I came across Joe Mangrum creating this sand painting in the park. A saxophone playing in the distance my mood shifted to calm. It was really beautiful to watch as he moved the sand and the awe in the faces of the observers. Children asking questions. Every camera phone out. All this work, asking only for donations. I love that every time I pass through Union Square it is a completely different story.
