I couldn't stop singing that line after watching her graduate from 8th grade. I feel like I just flew out to Cali to have fun as she left elementary school... how is middle school done already? In true Cali style, the day after graduation they gathered in Pacifico for surf lessons. First try on the board and she stood right up! The water was COLD - maybe 50 degrees. My feet were completely numb trying to get a shot of the whale that was popping in the background. How cool is that? So proud of this kid :)

Burnt... feeling a bit worn out from traveling, hospital visits and the rain pouring down. No better day to stay indoors and catch up on all that has been left behind the last few weeks.

A walk through the redwoods to find the Garden of Eden - a small swimming hole sometimes running with trout - none this time... nothing but peace and quiet on a beautiful fall day.

Bent.

City girl in a land of trees. Bent trees striving for sun below the big Reds. I think it would take months of wandering in Yosemite for me to take a good picture, not even a great picture. I really didn't know what to do with my camera. Looking back at them all I took a lot of pics of trees, and water, and reflections in water that for the most part are pretty boring. New respect for those amazing landscape photographs.

Digging through the California pictures thought I'd start with this one, taken from the plane over San Mateo. A beautiful painting of an environmental mess.

the fog... surreal, quiet, fog. we arrived in Dillon Beach to sun which quickly turned to a fog that covered us until Sunday morning. but we didn't care.
