As I left the hospital there was a crowd of folks taking photos so of course I had to go see, assuming someone famous or something to gawk at! And there he was, just after snagging a pigeon from the tree! He sat there about 5 minutes allowing us to photo away then he flew off into the park to enjoy his lunch. Awesome!

Sitting outside enjoying the Summer Solstice, sun tea and a book, listening to the birds. I was thinking the mockingbirds were being extra loud and obnoxious but they are very territorial now that their babies are here - then I looked up. HOLY CRAP. ran inside, camera, shoot. dang. They have dive bombed the cat outside but this was crazy. The hawk didn't acknowledge the little mocker at all, not even as she nipped her back. The hawk flew away drifting over the hood with the mock in attack all the way.

Today's lesson = don't mess with a mockingbird.

I've been a little to busy for life the last week. Part-time work is turning out to be more work then full-time. hmm... but I did spot this fella on my way to work. We stared at each other for a while and then he flew away. I'm flying away to Cali for a week - new photos to come!
