Feeling thankful for wonderful memories...



It has been a heartbreaking year of loss and struggle but we still have each other and the memories we gain. As we move through life sadness can be overwhelming so we need to pull the wonderful happy moments to the top, to regain smiles and laughter that we love. I'm so thankful to my incredible family and friends around me. Even in the saddest moments we could still laugh together, even Dad cracking jokes when he felt his worst, our laughter turns to tears and smiles again. Not everyone is so lucky.

what was I thinking?


After 10 years in NYC I thought it was time to go view the inflation of the parade balloons. I've heard some great stories but NO one told me about the crowds. I know that it's become the thing to do in the last few years, but this was insane. I kept thinking they need to go home to feed these kids, but no. The parental commentary was predictable, "where can I get a drink...", yes, where.

I was off to see family for Thanksgiving, family I had not seen in a LONG time. Not sure how that happens. Anyways, spent Friday mostly on the couch but went for a walk with my Aunt around town. Duryea is a SMALL town so it's never a far walk. There's not really much left, most of the pubs have closed but of course you can still get a gun...
